Proud of the Work Being Done by Hall and County

After watching the video of the debate for Nevada City’s District 1 supervisor (http://tinyurl.com/Dist-1-Supervisors), I was struck by the contrast of the three candidates. Heidi Hall, our supervisor for 7 years, seems to me to be clearly the most professional, knowledgeable, and experienced. Throughout the video her intelligence, compassion, and caring disposition consistently stood out. I am troubled, however, by the attacks and character accusations being aggressively directed at Heidi. Barry Pruett’s piece in The Union on 2/2 seemed especially mean-spirited.

I am proud and confident in the work being done by Heidi, and by our entire County. They are working within the budget, maintaining our infrastructure, expanding broadband, finding realistic solutions to our housing challenges, protecting our environment and quality of life, and importantly, improving our resiliency to wildfires.

I know Heidi professionally, and I believe Heidi loves our community as much as any of us. She will do everything in her power to maintain the vibrancy and friendliness of our town. The bitter attacks on her are sad and have no place in our community.

I hope you will join me in voting for her on or before March 5th.
