Heidi Hall Is Committed to Our Local Environment
By Karen Tricomi, As published in The Union
One of the best things about Nevada County is our natural environment. Heidi Hall has demonstrated her commitment to that environment in her work on the Nevada County Board of Supervisors.
For more than six years Heidi has co-led the South Yuba River Cohort, a partnership with local fire agencies, regional non-profits, and State and Federal agencies, including CalFire, that tackles ongoing problems at the Yuba River including fire danger, water safety, parking, toilets, trash, and other issues.
Heidi worked with Hardy Bullock, District 5 Supervisor, to make it a priority to develop a Master Plan for Recreation, something she has wanted to see for a long time. They are examining how climate change impacts our community, and how we can become more resilient. Her efforts include improved planning for environmental emergencies such as wildfires and record-breaking snow and rainstorms.
Heidi is committed to building social and economic resiliency through protecting forest health, promoting outdoor recreation, and maintaining our quality of life. Her expertise as an environmental professional and her life-long love of the Sierra Nevada Foothills are assets to the Nevada County Board of Supervisors and our community.
